Category by Category

Cat A (small cars) rose $1,292 (+2.4%) to $55,001. That is its 3rd rise in a row. It is the highest Cat A premium in our records, which begin in July 2017. A year earlier, in Nov 2020 Ex 2, it was $37,690, so the premium is 45.9% higher year on year.

Cat B (large cars) fell $3,200 (−3.9%) to $79,601. A year earlier, in Nov 2020 Ex 2, it was $41,101, so the premium is 93.7% higher year on year. That puts it at the top of its 12-month range of $41,101 to $82,801.

Cat E (open category) fell $1,999 (−2.3%) to $86,001. A year earlier, in Nov 2020 Ex 2, it was $41,503, so the premium is 107.2% higher year on year. That puts it at the top of its 12-month range of $41,503 to $88,000.

Cat C (goods vehicles) rose $1,501 (+3.6%) to $43,502. That is its 3rd rise in a row. It is the highest Cat C premium since Apr 2021 Ex 2 ($44,001). A year earlier, in Nov 2020 Ex 2, it was $30,334, so the premium is 43.4% higher year on year.

Cat D (motorcycles) was unchanged at $9,381. A year earlier, in Nov 2020 Ex 2, it was $7,300, so the premium is 28.5% higher year on year. That puts it in the upper part of its 12-month range of $7,300 to $9,689.
