COE Renewal Cost (PQP)

When your COE expires you can renew it by paying the Prevailing Quota Premium (PQP) — the 3-month moving average of COE prices — instead of bidding. Here's the current renewal cost by category.

Based on results up to 3 Mar 2026.

Category PQP 10-yr Renewal 5-yr Renewal
Cat A · Small Cars $107,009 +$117 $107,009 $53,505
Cat B · Large Cars $114,288 -$3,643 $114,288 $57,144
Cat C · Goods Vehicles & Buses $75,585 -$186 $75,585 $37,793
Cat D · Motorcycles $8,418 $8,418 $4,209
Cat E · Open Category $117,612 -$2,214 $117,612 $58,806

PQP is estimated as the average Quota Premium over the last 3 months of published results and may differ slightly from the official figure. Confirm the current PQP with the LTA before renewing.

10-Year vs 5-Year Renewal

A 10-year renewal costs 100% of the PQP and keeps the car renewable again later. A 5-year renewal costs 50% of the PQP but is a one-time extension — the car must be deregistered at the end of the five years.

How PQP Is Calculated

The PQP is the moving average of the COE Quota Premium over the last three months. Because it's an average, it's smoother than the individual bidding results — you don't bid to renew, you simply pay the prevailing rate. You can see the underlying price history on each category page or year by year.
