Cat A (small cars) rose $1,500 (+3.3%) to $46,689. A year earlier, in Aug 2020 Ex 2, it was $35,710, so the premium is 30.7% higher year on year. That puts it in the upper part of its 12-month range of $35,710 to $49,640.

Cat B (large cars) climbed $5,000 (+8.9%) to $61,001. It is the highest Cat B premium since Apr 2021 Ex 2 ($61,190). A year earlier, in Aug 2020 Ex 2, it was $38,802, so the premium is 57.2% higher year on year.

Cat E (open category) climbed $5,302 (+8.9%) to $64,901. It is the highest Cat E premium in our records, which begin in July 2017. A year earlier, in Aug 2020 Ex 2, it was $38,110, so the premium is 70.3% higher year on year.

Cat C (goods vehicles) dropped $2,579 (−6.1%) to $40,010. A year earlier, in Aug 2020 Ex 2, it was $25,006, so the premium is 60.0% higher year on year. That puts it in the upper part of its 12-month range of $25,006 to $45,001.

Cat D (motorcycles) climbed $601 (+6.8%) to $9,500. That is its 4th rise in a row. It is the highest Cat D premium in our records, which begin in July 2017. A year earlier, in Aug 2020 Ex 2, it was $7,432, so the premium is 27.8% higher year on year.
