Cat A (small cars) fell $1,821 (−3.9%) to $45,189. A year earlier, in Aug 2020 Ex 1, it was $33,000, so the premium is 36.9% higher year on year. That puts it in the upper part of its 12-month range of $33,000 to $49,640.

Cat B (large cars) dropped $3,500 (−5.9%) to $56,001. It is the lowest Cat B premium since Apr 2021 Ex 1 ($52,309). A year earlier, in Aug 2020 Ex 1, it was $37,102, so the premium is 50.9% higher year on year.

Cat E (open category) dipped $402 (−0.7%) to $59,599. A year earlier, in Aug 2020 Ex 1, it was $36,502, so the premium is 63.3% higher year on year. That puts it in the upper part of its 12-month range of $36,502 to $63,002.

Cat C (goods vehicles) climbed $3,066 (+7.8%) to $42,589. That is its 3rd rise in a row. A year earlier, in Aug 2020 Ex 1, it was $24,100, so the premium is 76.7% higher year on year. That puts it in the upper part of its 12-month range of $24,100 to $45,001.

Cat D (motorcycles) rose $210 (+2.4%) to $8,899. That is its 3rd rise in a row. It is the highest Cat D premium in our records, which begin in July 2017. A year earlier, in Aug 2020 Ex 1, it was $7,701, so the premium is 15.6% higher year on year.
