Cat A (small cars) climbed $3,024 (+8.0%) to $40,714. It is the highest Cat A premium since Jan 2018 Ex 1 ($41,400). A year earlier, in Dec 2019 Ex 1, it was $33,009, so the premium is 23.3% higher year on year.

Cat B (large cars) climbed $3,911 (+9.5%) to $45,012. It is the highest Cat B premium since May 2019 Ex 1 ($48,010). A year earlier, in Dec 2019 Ex 1, it was $37,900, so the premium is 18.8% higher year on year.

Cat E (open category) climbed $4,007 (+9.7%) to $45,510. It is the highest Cat E premium since May 2019 Ex 2 ($47,000). A year earlier, in Dec 2019 Ex 1, it was $38,889, so the premium is 17.0% higher year on year.

Cat C (goods vehicles) climbed $2,555 (+8.4%) to $32,889. A year earlier, in Dec 2019 Ex 1, it was $23,704, so the premium is 38.7% higher year on year. That puts it at the top of its 12-month range of $22,002 to $33,778.

Cat D (motorcycles) climbed $370 (+5.1%) to $7,670. It is the highest Cat D premium since Aug 2020 Ex 1 ($7,701). A year earlier, in Dec 2019 Ex 1, it was $3,789, so the premium is 102.4% higher year on year.
