Category by Category

Cat A (small cars) plunged $5,000 (−14.3%) to $30,010. A year earlier, in Feb 2019 Ex 1, it was $25,689, so the premium is 16.8% higher year on year. That puts it in the lower part of its 12-month range of $25,689 to $36,704.

Cat B (large cars) plunged $6,815 (−18.1%) to $30,890. It is the lowest Cat B premium in our records, which begin in July 2017. A year earlier, in Feb 2019 Ex 1, it was $34,509, so the premium is 10.5% lower year on year.

Cat E (open category) dropped $2,600 (−6.9%) to $34,900. It is the lowest Cat E premium since Jan 2019 Ex 2 ($33,689). A year earlier, in Feb 2019 Ex 1, it was $35,310, so the premium is 1.2% lower year on year.

Cat C (goods vehicles) was unchanged at $25,013. That is its 3rd rise in a row. A year earlier, in Feb 2019 Ex 1, it was $26,378, so the premium is 5.2% lower year on year. That puts it in the lower part of its 12-month range of $23,200 to $32,001.

Cat D (motorcycles) fell $209 (−4.5%) to $4,401. A year earlier, in Feb 2019 Ex 1, it was $3,709, so the premium is 18.7% higher year on year. That puts it in the upper part of its 12-month range of $3,000 to $4,610.
