Cat B (large cars) plunged $12,195 (−11.3%) to $95,856. It is the lowest Cat B premium since May 2022 Ex 1 ($92,090). A year earlier, in Oct 2021 Ex 1, it was $70,200, so the premium is 36.5% higher year on year.

Cat E (open category) fell $2,200 (−2.1%) to $105,001. It is the lowest Cat E premium since Jun 2022 Ex 2 ($104,400). A year earlier, in Oct 2021 Ex 1, it was $72,756, so the premium is 44.3% higher year on year.

Cat C (goods vehicles) fell $1,010 (−1.5%) to $65,991. A year earlier, in Oct 2021 Ex 1, it was $38,890, so the premium is 69.7% higher year on year. That puts it at the top of its 12-month range of $38,890 to $67,001.

Cat D (motorcycles) rose $162 (+1.4%) to $11,751. That is its 10th rise in a row. It is the highest Cat D premium in our records, which begin in July 2017. A year earlier, in Oct 2021 Ex 1, it was $9,052, so the premium is 29.8% higher year on year.
