Cat B (large cars) climbed $4,301 (+5.5%) to $82,001. A year earlier, in Jan 2021 Ex 2, it was $50,100, so the premium is 63.7% higher year on year. That puts it at the top of its 12-month range of $45,001 to $82,801.

Cat E (open category) rose $1,410 (+1.7%) to $83,911. A year earlier, in Jan 2021 Ex 2, it was $51,900, so the premium is 61.7% higher year on year. That puts it at the top of its 12-month range of $47,001 to $88,000.

Cat C (goods vehicles) rose $801 (+1.9%) to $43,001. A year earlier, in Jan 2021 Ex 2, it was $40,999, so the premium is 4.9% higher year on year. That puts it in the upper part of its 12-month range of $36,134 to $45,001.

Cat D (motorcycles) rose $311 (+3.2%) to $10,000. That is its 4th rise in a row. It is the highest Cat D premium in our records, which begin in July 2017. A year earlier, in Jan 2021 Ex 2, it was $7,589, so the premium is 31.8% higher year on year.
