Cat A (small cars) inched up $53 (+0.1%) to $40,609. A year earlier, in Jan 2020 Ex 1, it was $35,320, so the premium is 15.0% higher year on year. That puts it at the top of its 12-month range of $30,010 to $40,714.

Cat B (large cars) dipped $299 (−0.6%) to $49,001. A year earlier, in Jan 2020 Ex 1, it was $37,109, so the premium is 32.0% higher year on year. That puts it at the top of its 12-month range of $30,012 to $49,300.

Cat E (open category) was unchanged at $49,489. A year earlier, in Jan 2020 Ex 1, it was $38,000, so the premium is 30.2% higher year on year. That puts it at the top of its 12-month range of $32,500 to $49,500.

Cat C (goods vehicles) rose $699 (+2.0%) to $35,900. That is its 3rd rise in a row. It is the highest Cat C premium since Mar 2018 Ex 1 ($36,003). A year earlier, in Jan 2020 Ex 1, it was $24,402, so the premium is 47.1% higher year on year.

Cat D (motorcycles) fell $188 (−2.4%) to $7,501. A year earlier, in Jan 2020 Ex 1, it was $3,989, so the premium is 88.0% higher year on year. That puts it at the top of its 12-month range of $4,309 to $7,702.

Bidding Competition
