Category by Category

Cat A (small cars) rose $1,011 (+2.3%) to $45,600. That is its 3rd rise in a row. It is the highest Cat A premium since Nov 2017 Ex 2 ($46,791). A year earlier, in Mar 2020 Ex 2, it was $31,210, so the premium is 46.1% higher year on year.

Cat B (large cars) jumped $5,308 (+11.3%) to $52,309. It is the highest Cat B premium since Dec 2017 Ex 1 ($53,711). A year earlier, in Mar 2020 Ex 2, it was $30,012, so the premium is 74.3% higher year on year.

Cat E (open category) climbed $4,394 (+9.2%) to $52,200. It is the highest Cat E premium since May 2019 Ex 1 ($52,502). A year earlier, in Mar 2020 Ex 2, it was $32,500, so the premium is 60.6% higher year on year.

Cat C (goods vehicles) dropped $3,455 (−8.7%) to $36,134. A year earlier, in Mar 2020 Ex 2, it was $22,002, so the premium is 64.2% higher year on year. That puts it mid-way through its 12-month range of $23,888 to $45,001.

Cat D (motorcycles) rose $209 (+2.7%) to $8,000. That is its 3rd rise in a row. It is the highest Cat D premium since Mar 2018 Ex 1 ($8,009). A year earlier, in Mar 2020 Ex 2, it was $4,489, so the premium is 78.2% higher year on year.
