Category by Category

Cat A (small cars) climbed $2,242 (+7.1%) to $34,001. It is the highest Cat A premium since May 2019 Ex 1 ($36,704). A year earlier, in Oct 2018 Ex 1, it was $28,457, so the premium is 19.5% higher year on year.

Cat B (large cars) jumped $4,361 (+11.8%) to $41,361. It is the highest Cat B premium since May 2019 Ex 2 ($42,564). A year earlier, in Oct 2018 Ex 1, it was $31,301, so the premium is 32.1% higher year on year.

Cat E (open category) rose $1,001 (+2.5%) to $41,001. It is the highest Cat E premium since Jun 2019 Ex 1 ($42,002). A year earlier, in Oct 2018 Ex 1, it was $32,552, so the premium is 26.0% higher year on year.

Cat C (goods vehicles) rose $953 (+3.7%) to $26,509. A year earlier, in Oct 2018 Ex 1, it was $28,501, so the premium is 7.0% lower year on year. That puts it in the lower part of its 12-month range of $24,599 to $32,001.

Cat D (motorcycles) climbed $199 (+5.5%) to $3,800. A year earlier, in Oct 2018 Ex 1, it was $4,109, so the premium is 7.5% lower year on year. That puts it in the upper part of its 12-month range of $2,509 to $4,400.
