COE Price Tracker ("we", "our", or "us"), developed by The Everest Lab, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application ("the App") available on iOS and Android, and our website at coeprice.com ("the Website").

By using the App or Website, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect, store, or process any personal information. COE Price Tracker is designed with privacy as a core principle:

  • No account registration or sign-up required
  • No personal data collection (name, email, phone, etc.)
  • No advertising identifiers or tracking pixels
  • No location data or GPS access
  • No analytics or crash reporting SDKs
  • No cookies on the Website (other than essential Cloudflare security cookies)

3. Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores data locally on your device to provide its features. This data never leaves your device except to fetch updated COE price information. Locally stored data includes:

  • Cached COE bidding results and price data (refreshed every 6 hours)
  • Historical COE price records for trend charts
  • Your price alert settings (category and target price)
  • App preferences (selected categories, display options)
  • Home screen widget configuration

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the App.

4. Network Requests

The App makes network requests solely to fetch COE price data from the following sources:

  • Primary: GitHub Pages CDN — a static JSON endpoint maintained by us, updated every 6 hours
  • Fallback: data.gov.sg — the Singapore Government's public open data API

These requests contain only standard HTTP headers (no user identifiers, tokens, or personal data). No information about you or your device is sent to these services.

5. Notifications

The App may request permission to send local notifications for price alerts. These notifications are:

  • Generated entirely on your device
  • Not sent through any external push notification service
  • Triggered only when COE prices meet your configured alert thresholds
  • Optional — you can deny or revoke notification permission at any time in your device settings

6. Third-Party Services

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not share any user information with third parties because we do not collect any.

The App and Website may contain links to external websites (e.g., app stores, LTA's OneMotoring). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is a general-audience informational tool. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect personal data from any user, no special provisions for children are necessary.

8. Data Security

Since we do not collect or transmit personal data, there is minimal security risk to your personal information. All network requests to fetch COE price data use HTTPS encryption. Locally stored data is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, biometrics, encryption).

9. Your Rights

Under the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and other applicable data protection laws, you have the right to access, correct, and withdraw consent for the use of your personal data. Since we do not collect any personal data, these rights are inherently respected.

You may delete all locally stored app data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data through your device settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
